Caesarea

Caesarea is a beautiful seaside community located halfway between Tel Aviv and Haifa. There is a strong community spirit in the town, and many projects have been organized to strengthen the residents’ sense of belonging. For example, in the “Fish Project,” residents were invited to decorate huge concrete fish in ways that demonstrate the qualities of the town. These fish are now displayed on the main road. Jewish holidays are festive occasions which strive to include all sectors of the community.

Local Employment
Caesarea is well situated for employment in the greater Tel Aviv, Netanya and Haifa areas. In addition, the local Caesarea Industrial and Business Park has several factories and hi-tech companies.

Education / Youth
Caesaria has a range of of daycare and preschool options. High school students commute to neighboring Hadera, Maagen Michael and Ohr Akiva.

There is a local Mamlachti government-run, secular) elementary school on Rothschild Street. Students commute to neighboring cities (Hadera, Pardes Chana and Zichron Yaakov) for high school.

There are no Mamlachti Dati (government-run, Orthodox) schools in Caesarea. Children commute to Noam in Hadera or Nir Etzion. The official Mamlachti Dati kindergarten is also in Nir Etzion. (Transportation is provided.) Orthodox high school students commute. Girls can attend Pelech in Zichron Yaakov, Mevasseret in Hadera, Ulpananit Tzviya in Haifa, Ulpanat Elisheva in Pardes Chana or the Ulpana in Kfar Pines. Boys can attend the Yeshiva in Zichron Yaakov, Yeshivat Orot in Hadera or Yeshivat Yavne in Haifa.

There is an active Tzofim chapter for the youth. The closest Bnei Akiva chapter is in neighboring Hadera (a 30-45 minute walk). There is also an Oz chapter for children grades 1-3 and a Talmud Torah program.

Transportation
Frequent service from the train station at Binyamina or Caesarea-Pardes Chana enables residents to reach Tel Aviv and Haifa within 35 minutes. Convenient bus service is also available.

Olim Services
Residents can join an Ulpan in Zichron Yaakov, Hadera, Netanya or Kibbutz Maagen Michael.

There is a local ESRA (English Speaking Residents Association) which has an English book club.

Amenities / Services
There is a local country club with a wide variety of activities for children and adults. The club includes an indoor swimming pool and fully equipped exercise room and sauna.

A few basic stores are available locally and several malls are within short driving distance.

A wide number of Kosher restaurants are available in Caesarea, Pardes Chana, Zichron Yaakov, Hadera, Ohr Akiva and Binyamina.

There is a local library and active cultural center.

Community and Religious Life
There are two Orthodox synagogues that service all of the local residents: Heichal Naomi and the Caesarea Synagogue. Rabbi Kaplan, an English speaker who is the Rabbi of both congregations, strives to reach out to all people regardless of their levels of observance. There is a new local Mikveh. There are many community-based activities, such as an annual Shavuot dinner which was recently attended by close to 200 people.

Caesaria currently has approximately 15 Orthodox, English-speaking families with children, and this group represents its own small and close knit community.

Real Estate
Villas (private homes) are the primary type of housing that is available in Caesarea.
An older villa can be purchased for 3.8 million shekel. Newer villas start at 4 million shekel.

Villa rentals start at 7000 NIS per month.

Neighborhoods
The town is divided into the Northern and Southern sections, and most of the English-speaking families live in the Northern section.
